CSN Stores – Upcoming Review

September 22, 2010 under Giveaway, review

So I have another upcoming review of CSN Stores which I am excited about because I have something up my sleeve for it! But in the mean time I will give you a little peak at CSN Stores if you have not already used them.

CSN Stores is an awesome online website with everything for you home that you could possibly need!

The first thing that I have to say about ordering from CSN Stores is be prepared for get customer service and super fast shipping! I wish that the one item that I had bought a couple of weeks back had been able available through CSN Stores because I am still waiting on my product. With CSN Stores I am very likely to get my things within 4 days of ordering!

One of the rooms I have been thinking about a lot is my kitchen. I would really like to make it more of a peaceful place then it is now since that is the first thing that you see when you walk in my house. The first think I would start with is our dinning table. I dislike our small school issued dinning table that we have now and I wish I could add a dining table like this one from CSN Stores:

When we get a place big enough for a bigger table I definitely want a big one! Since that is not possible I am thinking of adding some simple rugs to my kitchen. The only problem with that is that I have small children who make messes of everything but with the good prices from CSN Stores I am sure I would mind to much if one really gets ruined. Here is one I have been dreaming about:

I have always loved braided rug and I love the blue color of this one. And its only $24 for the size I need!! So if you here about me buying a rug I most likely got it from CSN Stores and it might even be this one.

So like I said just a peak because there is soooooo much more over at CSN Stores then I could really get into in one post. But be looking for a future post on my review of CSN Stores and perhaps a giveaway!

CSN Stores – Review

July 16, 2010 under review

This is getting out a lot later then I wanted it to but I am exited to finally give you my review of CSN Stores.com!

So for awhile now I have slowly been working on making my room into a sanctuary for my husband and I. part of the process was moving my at the time seven month old son into the kids room with his sister. That involved finding a crib. We had a crib that we were blessed with for Samantha but the were some rungs missing from the side and so I was no longer comfortable using it especially since Samantha can love her brother a little to much at times and I knew she would use the missing rungs to climb in the bed with him. So I spent a couple of months looking for the right crib on craigslist. We wanted a crib that would match all of Samantha’s existing furniture as someday when we have our own home I want to have a pretty children’s room set up. Well I wasn’t finding what I was looking for when I was contacted by CSN Stores.com to do a review for them. Immediately I went to look at the cribs! Right away I found the exact crib that matches Sam’s toddler bed so that had to be the thing I reviewed!

I am totally loving everything about this crib as it matches perfectly, is well made, and Mathew likes it as well. Plus its just a beautiful crib :)

As with past orders from CSN Stores.com my order arrived very quickly after I orded it. I think it arrived a week after I bought it! I really enjoy everything about ordering fron CSN Stores.com because I can find pretty much anything and I mean ANYTHING that I would need for my home from them and I always know that my orders are going to arrive fast, safely, and they will be quality products. I definitely recommend that you check out CSN Stores.com if you are in need of anything from your baby all the way up to your kitchen!!

Jerky.com – Review

March 23, 2010 under review
A while ago I did a review of some pineapple jerky from Jerky.com that was really good so I was glad when I was contacted to do another review of their newest products.
Jerky.com has a whole ton of different jerkies from Fruit Jerkies to a bunch of different meat jerkies like Turkey Jerky and Ostrich jerky. Their newest jerky that I got to review is a beef jerky from Spencer’s Jerky. Spencer’s new jerky comes in two new flavors, Sweet and Spicy Orange Beef Jerky and Sweet and Spicy Mango Beef Jerky.
After trying out both jerkies my favorite one has to be the orange jerky. Each jerky is slightly sweet and pretty spicy with the good taste of beef jerky. I think that the orange goes really well with the meat.
There are only a couple things that I would change. Though you can taste the fruit flavor I wish it was stronger, you almost couldn’t taste it in the mango jerky. I also wish it was a little less spicy because I couldn’t share it with my daughter who loves jerky like I do.
Altogether I would definitely buy these as I really really liked the tastes of the fruit and meat together. Check out Jerky.com for all of you jerky needs or just some new tastes for your mouth.

Baby K’Tan: Review & Discount

December 8, 2009 under Babywearing, review

So for next few weeks I will be highlighting nursing and baby products that have made my life easier as the mother of a 1 1/2 year old and new born. Today’s review is the baby carrier Baby K’tan.

With the birth of my son Mathew I have really been looking into baby carriers as I wanted to be able to have him close while chasing around my 15 month old daughter. Now if you know Samantha you know that I need something simple but secure. Samantha is always climbing, running, and generally causing small hurricanes where ever she goes so if I am going to have Mathew strapped to me it better hold up. When Samantha was little I bought a Moby Wrap because it seemed to be the most secure carrier for my wiggly girl. It quickly became my favorite carrier as it was the most comfortable carrier that I had tried. I wore Samantha in it everywhere. The only thing that I did really like was all the wrapping that you had to do before getting the baby in. So with Mathew’s birth I decided that I would look for something that had the same amount of comfort but easier to put on. That is when I came across the Baby K’tan.

The Baby K’tan holds the baby very much the same way the the wrap does but it has two loops to put on in stead of all the wrapping.

What makes the Baby K’tan different from other carriers?

  • Easy to use and put on; NO WRAPPING (see instructions)
  • Unique figure 8 design and sliding lumbar band (patent pending) offers greater support for back and shoulders
  • Over 8 positions from preemie to preschool (42 lbs.)

My take on the Baby K’tan

The Baby K’tan took awhile for me to get use to even though it is really easy to use but that is just me because I always take awhile to get use to a new carrier. The first time that I wore it was when Mathew was only a few days old and I wore him in the cradle position and I walk quite a ways with him. The Baby K’tan lived up to my expectations of being like my wrap and being comfortable. It also worked great as a carrier for very little babies. Mathew was 7lbs 4oz, so pretty small and I know that there are carriers that you have to wait till they get to a certain weight. This will also work for older babies though I have not yet tried it with my daughter but that is good to know as its nice to have a carrier that works for younger and older babies.

The only negative think I do have to say is that I am not sure I felt that it is as secure as my wrap. Not that I felt like Mathew was going to fall out or anything its just that the Baby K’tan does not wrap around you the same and so I felt like I didn’t have as much carrying him as I like. I really like to have lots of support for Mathew and myself. So I still have to say that the wrap is still my favorite for that reason.

Altogether I love the Baby K’tan and I will be using it a lot when I need a back up for my wrap.

Review and Giveaway of How To Mess Up Your Child’s Life!!!

May 12, 2009 under Giveaway, review

I am getting this out a little later today then I wanted but for those who have been waiting here is the review and giveaway of the new book How to Mess Up Your Child’s Life: Proven Strategies and Practical Tips.

Here is the description of the book:

How to Mess Up Your Child’s Life: Proven Strategies and Practical Tips

There are several people in life you don’t want to hear say, “Oops!” Your barber, your mechanic, and your surgeon are three that come to mind. So do your parents and spouse. And yet, few of us put much thought into how we can create happier homes. Now, Christian parenting experts Kurt and Olivia Bruner have created a tongue-in-cheek but invaluable guide that helps parents move past “oops” to intentional, fun, and faith-filled parenting. In a way that keeps parents engaged amid the nonstop grind of jobs and household chores, the Bruners walk parents through the steps in creating a plan for infusing faith dynamics into the home.

I must admit that I had interesting thoughts when I was asked to review this book. What parent wants to mess up their child’s life? If you are any thing like me you want to make your child’s life the best that it can be. Well Olivia and Kurt give you the tools to help make your child’s life the best or to mess it up if you want to.

This was a really fun book to read for me. It gives you lots of tips and activities to do with your child to teach them basic life lessons that every person needs. Although I have not gotten to try any of the activities because my Samantha is to small to do them and to understand them I am really excited to have them and plan on using them as soon as I can. I may just use them for a party or something :)

I think this is a great book for any parent who is looking to raise their child or children.

Mommy Grace Review and Giveaway!!!! And SITS Spring Fling!!!!!

March 10, 2009 under Giveaway, Mommy Grace, review

So today is the SITS Spring Fling!!!! You have to go and check it out because not only will SITS (which stands for The Secret Is In The Sauce :) ) be having giveaways every hour but lots of SITS from around the blogsphere will be doing giveaways!!!! That is where Mommy Grace: Erasing Your Mommy Guilt come in. Those coming over from SITS and those who don’t know I have been given the opportunity from Hachette Book Group to review Mommy Grace: Erasing Your Mommy Guilt and How to Mess Up Your Child’s Life: Proven Strategies & Practical Tips and do giveaways of both books which are new books that are coming out. I have not had a chance to review How to Mess Up Your Child’s Life yet but Mommy Grace is an amazing book!!!

Mommy Grace is all about finding the grace that you need for all the guilty moments that come with being part of the amazing life stage of motherhood. As a mommy we all have those moments of feeling guilty because something did not go the way that it should have. Well this book is here for us to help find the grace needed. Here is the synopsis of the book ~

Mommy Grace: Erasing Your Mommy Guilt
By Shiela Schuller Coleman

Universally, mothers tend to feel they are not good enough at parenting and fear they are harming their children by not being perfect. In Mommy Grace: Erasing Mommy Guilt, Sheila Schuller Coleman offers overwhelmed moms short but emotive stories of authentic motherhood from her own and others’ experiences-foibles and all-and offers comfort by showing how God makes up for human weakness with His own strength.

Because Sheila shares lessons learned the hard way by real moms rather than giving difficult instructions for better mothering, readers will leave the book feeling encouraged rather than lectured.

For every mom who feels she’s not quite up to the colossal job of parenting, MOMMY GRACE is full of hope and compassion.

I have to tell you that this book had me after I read the first chapter! Shiela knows right where we as mothers need grace. All of her stories have some way in which every mother can relate. My favorite quote in the book is, “Trapped by the need to be a perfect parent – But Jesus has snapped this trap – and freed me!”.

Before I write the whole book out here on my blog I better give you my one critique of Mommy Grace. In some of the stories Shiela shares about time she had seen Jesus protecting her child from some of her guilty moments or of Him talking to her. I am not saying this was bad just that this was the one place that I had a hard time connecting with the book because I have never had an experience like this with my child. Now you are welcome to debate me on this point but I know and have been told that being a Christian does not mean that you see God or hear Him all the time. Every person experiences Him differently.

Okay you have stuck with all my rambling to this part he is where the good stuff comes ;) You have the chance to win Mommy Grace to read for yourself!!!! I am really excited for whoever will win this book because it opens whole news doors in the life as a mother!!!!
